What is NFT (Non-Fungible Token)?
A unique blockchain token representing ownership of a specific item, unlike interchangeable tokens where every unit is identical.
A non-fungible token, or NFT, is a token that represents a one-of-a-kind item rather than an interchangeable amount. Where one unit of a currency equals any other, each NFT is distinct and can prove ownership of things like digital art, collectibles, membership passes, or in-game items. NFTs often follow standards such as ERC-721.
This matters for rewards because quests and campaigns frequently issue NFT badges to mark participation or eligibility, and some airdrops target NFT holders.
Example: completing a project’s quest might mint you a non-transferable NFT badge that later qualifies you for a token airdrop.
Safety note: NFTs carry the same wallet risks as tokens. Minting or interacting with an NFT still requires signing transactions and sometimes token approvals, which drainers exploit through fake mint sites and look-alike domains. Unexpected NFTs can appear in your wallet as bait; do not interact with unknown ones. Verify official mint links, and never sign a transaction you do not understand just to claim a “free” NFT.
