What is Quest?
A guided task or set of tasks a project offers, often on-chain, that you complete to earn points, badges, or potential rewards.
A quest is a structured activity a project sets up to encourage you to try its product. Quests might ask you to make a swap, bridge funds, mint a badge, or follow a tutorial. Completing them can earn points, non-transferable badges, or a spot on a list for a future airdrop.
Quests matter because they are a mainstream, generally legitimate way to engage with new projects and position yourself for rewards while learning how a product works. They reward genuine curiosity rather than pure speculation.
Example: a quest platform lists a new Layer 2, and completing its tasks, such as one swap and one bridge, earns points that may later translate into an airdrop allocation.
Safety note: legitimate quests operate through official platforms and never need your seed phrase. The danger is fake quest sites and look-alike domains that ask you to sign a malicious message or grant a broad token approval. Verify the platform, connect only to trusted apps, and review every signature request before approving. Related terms include campaign, points program, learn-to-earn, and token approval.
